My Pocket.*

In my pocket I have:

  • Cell Phone- I carry my cell phone with me everywhere. I feel naked when I don't have my cell phone because it is pretty much my life. :) I am constantly texting, and/or talkin on my phone.
  • Lip Gloss- I always try to remember to carry lip gloss with me. I hate having to borrow people's lip gloss because it kind pf annoys me when people borrow mine.
  • Pony Tail Holder- Most of the time I will have have a pony tail holder because I do sports and I usually have practice right ofter school.
  • A Piece of Candy- Almost every other day I have a peice of candy because I have seminary and if we give Bro. Leifson a pound and answer the question that's on the board then we get a piece of candy. :)

My Paragraph.*

To Kill a Mockingbird Paragraph

Have you ever done something that most people would be afraid to do because you don't care what people think, do, or say? Well, I'm reading the book To Kill a Mockingbird and there is a character named Atticus and he is a lawyer defending a black man. This story takes place quite a while ago, and most people are racist. When Atticus is defending this black man, Tom Robinson, Dill runs out of the court room crying because he cannot stand the way Mr. Gilmer is treating Tom Robinson(pg. 226-227). Atticus then explains that this is the way Mr. Gilmer treats black people on the streets too. Also, he says that just because this guy is a different color than the rest of them doesn't mean that he should be treated differently or disrespectfully. As one can see, Atticus didn't care about the fact that this man was a different color, he still treated him the same as he treats everyone else. This was no matter what other people thought, said, or did. Therefore, no one should care what other people think, do, or say because as long as you're doing what you think is right then that should be enough.

Comments:

1. Leslie said: Nat, I think that you have an excellent paragraph. I think it might not be exactly what Mr. Davis is looking for but, it is still a really great paragraph. Don’t forget to use spell check. It has description and it explains what s going on. Good Job! Love always Leslie
2. Wacey said: I think your paragraph is awesome, so don’t let Leslie put you down. I love your explanations and descriptions.
3. Dylan said: I think this is a good paragraph, and you followed the five steps just like you were supposed too. Plus you had a lot of examples from the book….so…….GOOD JOB! :)
4. Stephanie said: I think this is a good paragraph! You could have had more examples, but other than that it was beautiful. Just beautiful!
5. Kelsie said: This is a good paragraph! You should put a quotation in there somewhere and that could only make it better. You did pretty good on the explaining but just make sure you don’t retell everything alright. Good job. (:

Atticus's behavior in court is intriguing. Harper Lee went to greatlengths to describe the way he speaks and acts. Examine the way hetreats the members of the court and compare him Judge Taylor andGilmer.

My Weekend.*

Wow! My weekend was so much fun! On Thursday I went my friend's house to watch movies and hang out. Then on Friday I hung out with my mom around my house. Saturday was probably the best day out of this weekend! First, I went to the Pizza Hut for a pizza party with the volleyball girls, and then after that we went to the football game at our high school. There our team played Rock Springs and we totally killed them. We beat them 38-6. After the game I went to Utah to go shopping and just have a mother-daughter day. The next day I went to my grandma's house. While I was out there hanging with my cousins we decided to got to one of their friend's parties. It was a blast! After the party I went back to me grandma's house and stayed the night. Monday morning I got up at six to go shopping again! Well, that's about it for my weekend.
